辉铜矿

辉铜矿(Chalcocite)[1]是一种含铜矿物,大部分是次生矿物,主要化学成分为Cu2S,常与石英、方解石等矿物共存,[8]新鲜面呈暗铅灰色,氧化后表面呈黑色或锖色,[2]具金属光泽,[9]摩氏硬度为2.5-3.0,比重为5.5-5.8g/cm3,[2]具延展性,以小刀刻画留下光亮的刻痕,是电的良导体。[1]其常见斜方晶系、六方晶系和等轴晶系3种同质多象变体,[5]单晶体少见,晶形呈假六方形的短柱状或厚板状。[10]辉铜矿形成原因主要分为内生成因和表生成因,内生成因型辉铜矿主要产于富铜贫硫的晚期热液铜矿床中,[5]表生成因型的辉铜矿则主要产于含铜硫化物矿床的次生富集带。[5][11]辉铜矿通常呈致密块状或粉末状集合体,[5]主要分布在美国阿拉斯加州的肯纳科特、内华达州的伊利、亚利桑那州的莫伦西以及纳米比亚的楚梅布等地,[8]英国、意大利、西班牙和中国等地均有分布。[2][9]

辉铜矿形成原因主要分为内生成因和表生成因,内生成因型辉铜矿主要产于富铜贫硫的晚期热液铜矿床中,[6]表生成因型的辉铜矿则主要产于含铜硫化物矿床的次生富集带。[6][12]辉铜矿通常呈致密块状或粉末状集合体,[6]主要分布在美国阿拉斯加州的肯纳科特、内华达州伊利亚利桑那州的莫伦西以及纳米比亚楚梅布等地,[9]英国意大利西班牙和中国等地均有分布。[3][10]

辉铜矿含铜量高达到79.86%,[9]是提炼铜的主要矿物原料;[3]还可用来制备铜化合物,[13]用于制造有机合成催化剂、陶瓷釉料等。[14]

辉铜矿常见致密块状、粉末状。[2]新鲜面呈暗铅灰色,氧化后表面呈黑色或锖色,不发光,[3]反射色为灰白色微带蓝色调,与方铅矿连生时呈现明显的淡蓝色,与黄铜矿连生时则呈现蓝灰色。[15]表面有时出现翠绿色或天蓝色小斑,具金属光泽(风化面常有一层无光被膜),[10]不透明。[6]粒度0.005~0.05mm,[16]摩氏硬度为2.5-3.0,比重为5.5-5.8g/cm3,解理:不清楚,断口为贝壳状,[3]质脆易粉碎。[17]延展性小刀刻划时不成粉末而留下光亮刻痕。条痕为暗黑色,[3]是电的良导体。[2]非均质性弱,显微镜下呈绿色至浅粉红色偏光色。反射率[注1]R:22.5(绿色)、16(橙色)、15(红色)。[2]

化学特性

辉铜矿的主要化学成分为Cu2S。[3]此外,还含有Ag、Fe、Co、Ni、Au等元素。[2]辉铜矿在氧化带不稳定可转变为铜的氧化物碳酸盐,如分解为赤铜矿、铜蓝、孔雀石蓝铜矿;氧化不完全时则形成自然铜,反应式如下:[12][19][20]

若遇到SiO2的水胶溶体作用则形成硅孔雀石,反应式如下:[20]

可以用热的碱性氰化钠溶液浸出辉铜矿中的铜,其在45℃时0.1%的qíng化钠溶液中溶解度为100%,能与氰化钠反应生成铜氰络合物盐,辉铜矿与氰化钠的反应方程式如下:[22]

辉铜矿晶体结构中一个晶胞有96个铜原子,主要呈三角配位体结构。共有24个晶体学上单独的铜原子,其中8个位于硫层中,占三角配位的2/3位置。剩余铜原子都位于层间,虽然大多都处于无序态,但基本都在三角配位体中,[23]近似一个被铜原子和硫原子紧紧挤满的六边形结构。[23]辉铜矿有多种配位数,从三配位到六配位,铜原子和硫原子结合时,三配位、四配位的铜原子和六配位的硫原子结合。[23]

辉铜矿具有高温和低温变体,[12]常见3种同质多象变体:低于103℃时稳定的为斜方晶系变体;在103~420℃范围内稳定的为六方晶系变体;大于420℃时稳定的为等轴晶系变体。[6]单晶体少见,晶形呈假六方形的短柱状或厚板状。[11]

低温变体为斜方晶系空间群-Abm2。晶胞参数:a0=0.1192nm,b0=0.2733nm,C0=0.1344nm,Z=2。主要粉晶谱线:1.88(1)、1.9746(0.7)、2.403(0.7),[2]结构类似于螺状硫银矿。[25]

高温六方晶系变体中,单胞分子式为Cu96S48。[23]硫按六方最紧密堆积,铜离子有两种情况:CuⅠ靠近八面体空隙三角形底边的中心,CuⅡ位于四面体空隙中。[25]

高温等轴晶系变体的辉铜矿具反荧石型结构。硫离子按立方最紧密堆积,所有四面体空隙被铜离子所占据。[25]有Cu+代替Cu2+,使结构出现缺席构造,成为Cu2-xS,(x=0.1~0.2),具有反萤石型结构,称为蓝辉铜矿[2]

辉铜矿是由其他矿物蚀变而形成的次生矿物,因此可形成许多不同矿物的假晶。假晶是一种矿物,它已经用原子取代了另一种矿物,但它保留了原始矿物的晶体形状。已知辉铜矿可形成斑铜矿、钴铜矿、黄铜矿黄铁矿、硫铝矿、方铅矿闪锌矿的假晶。即矿物是辉铜矿,但形状是另一种晶体(例如蓝铜矿)的形状。[26]

矿物的构造

辉铜矿具有块状构造、[27]浸染状构造、晕状构造、脉状构造、竹叶状构造和斑杂状构造等。[28]辉铜矿常呈块状构造分布于矿石中;辉铜矿呈浸染状构造时,会以不规则粒状分散在碎屑粒间,其矿物形态及大小受碎屑孔隙控制,而当散点状矿物密集在一起时,会形成斑点状构造;辉铜矿呈晕状结构时,会呈散点状聚集在中心呈核状;[28]辉铜矿还呈脉状分布于砂页岩中,矿化脉沿成岩期矿体分布,并受地层控制,且大部位切穿层理,连续性差,靠脉壁为石英方解石,中间为铜硫化物[27]当矿化不均匀时,辉铜矿集合体的形态则会呈竹叶状、斑杂状分布于灰绿色泥岩粉砂岩中。[28]

形成原因

铜矿是热液矿脉以及铜矿床氧化带的常见矿物,因此有原生辉铜矿,也有次生辉铜矿。[6][29]

内生成因

内生成因辉铜矿主要产于富铜贫硫的晚期热液铜矿床中,常与斑铜矿黄铁矿、黄铜矿、石英、方解石等矿物一起共生。[9][6][30]产量较少。[12]

表生成因

表生成因辉铜矿主要产于含铜硫化物矿床的次生富集带。[6]系地表原生的铜矿物氧化后生成了CuSO4溶液,经氧化带渗滤的硫酸铜溶液与原生硫化物(黄铁矿、斑铜矿、黄铜矿等)进行交代作用的产物,产出较多,反应式如下:[12][20][31]

分布与产地

辉铜矿主要分布在美国阿拉斯加州的肯纳科特、内华达州的伊利、亚利桑那州的莫伦西,法国的阿利埃省、科西嘉省、阿里埃日省、塔尔纳省、卢瓦尔省和罗纳省以及纳米比亚的楚梅布等地,[9][32]英国意大利西班牙、中国、澳大利亚刚果和哈萨克斯坦等地均有分布,[9][3][10]但只有少数矿区会出产美丽的辉铜矿晶体,如美国的巴特和布里斯托英国的康沃尔、纳米比亚楚梅布刚果科卢韦齐和哈萨克斯坦。[32]特尔费尔(Telfer)金铜矿于1977年开始运营,该矿以生产澳大利亚最好的辉铜矿晶体而闻名。其中十字形孪晶、穿透晶体和带有箭头端的细长棱柱形晶体都很常见。[33]

名称来源

1832年,法国地质学家弗朗索瓦·苏尔皮斯·伯当(François Sulpice Beudant)将希腊语“chalkos”命名为“chalcosine”,意为“铜”。这种矿物以前有过各种各样的名称。直到1868年,美国矿物学家詹姆斯·德怀特·丹纳(James Dwight Dana)和乔治·J. 布鲁什(George J. Brush)将这种材料重新命名为“辉铜矿”。[34]而“辉”字则是来源于其所具有的金属光泽,颜色不像其它含铜矿物那么漂亮,而是呈不同程度的铅灰色或灰色。[35]

应用领域

本草纲目中曾记载辉铜矿等硫化物类矿物有解毒,收敛的作用,可用于dīng肿、恶疮,驴马背疮,臭腋的治疗。[36]除此之外,辉铜矿是含铜量较高的硫化铜矿物,是提炼铜的主要矿物原料;[3][12]还可用来制备铜化合物,[13]用于制造有机合成催化剂、陶瓷釉料等。[14]另外,辉铜矿还可以作为收藏品,在1990年代后期,纽克雷斯特矿业(Newcrest Mining)将收集的数百个单晶和晶团标本大部分捐赠给了澳大利亚的博物馆和一些大学地质系。[33]

选矿

辉铜矿是含铜量较高的硫化铜矿物,[17]可用浮选法进行选矿,原理是根据矿物原料颗粒表面对水的润湿性(疏水性亲水性)差异来选矿,还可加入捕收剂、调整剂和起泡剂等增加矿物疏水性使之易于分离,[38]辉铜矿可浮性好,在酸性介质中和碱性介质中均易浮游,用黄药、黑药、白药和胺作捕收剂时易浮,能得到品位很高的铜精矿;而硫代硫酸钠亚硫酸钠铁氰化钾亚铁氰化钾等是辉铜矿浮游的最强抑制剂。[17]当浮选情况不好时,可加一些硫酸。有黄铁矿存在时,加石灰氰化物即可抑制下去。[39]当辉铜矿的原矿品位低且对精矿质量要求高时,还需要进行5次以上的精选。[40]

鉴定

可从颜色、硬度、易熔和易污手等特性中对辉铜矿加以鉴定,以其暗铅灰色、硬度小和弱延展性区别于其他含铜硫化物,用小刀刻划时有润滑感但不会碎成粉末,而是留下一条光亮的刻痕。[8]辉铜矿易污手且易熔,[3]辉铜矿蘸取盐酸后用火焰灼烧,火焰呈天蓝色,[11]并释放出二氧化硫气体。[3]将辉铜矿溶于HNO3中,溶液呈绿色,并将小刀置于该溶液中,刀身上会镀上一层金属铜膜。[2][12]

环境影响

辉铜矿在具有开采利用价值的同时对环境也产生了一些负面影响,辉铜矿形成的过程中生成了硫酸亚铁和硫酸,混入地下水后会形成具有强腐蚀性的溶液,然后参与到水和大气的循环中,严重污染土壤、河流,进而对生态环境造成破坏。[35]
