辉绿岩(diabase[2]),又称为粗玄岩或微辉长岩,[1][3]是一种基性浅成侵入岩岩石。岩石常呈灰绿色,[5]深灰色或灰黑色。[13]为全晶质,[19]具斑状结构、[15]细-中粒结构和辉绿结构。[5]其中的矿物晶体可表现出玻璃光泽到亚金属光泽,断口为贝壳状。[17]莫氏硬度通常为6~7,[17]密度为2.85~3.0g/cm3。[18]

辉绿岩力学强度大,[20]耐腐蚀性、耐酸碱性、[6]抗冻性能、抗风化性和保温性能均良好,[21][17][22]因其独特的理化性质成为良好的建筑材料和工业原料,[14][6]具有较好的雕刻性,广泛应用于浮雕、纪念碑和墓碑等方面的雕刻上。[17][15]其风化后的含磷土还是天然的磷肥,有一定的肥效。[16]对辉绿岩地层的研究则更有助于地质事件解析、资源勘探、土地管理和灾害评估。[17]
名称来源
辉绿岩在美国称为粒玄岩,指一种侵入岩,最初被法国地质学家亚历山大·布隆尼亚尔(Alexandre Brongniart,1770-1847)在1807年使用。[23]这一名称在德国指第三纪前的玄武岩,在英国指已分解的玄武岩,在苏联和加拿大则指具含长结构的脉岩。[23]而辉绿岩在希腊语“διάβασις”中是“交叉,跨越”的意思,是一种化学性质相似的中间岩石,代表了较粗、较深冷却的辉长岩和表面瞬间冷却的玄武岩熔岩之间的变化。[24][25]
矿物组成
辉绿岩的主要矿物为辉石和基性斜长石,次要矿物为橄榄石、磷灰石、钛铁矿、磁铁矿、黑云母和石英等。[13]全晶质中粒结构基性斜长石通常为拉长石,但有时为中长石或更长石,[19]占比约65%~70%,呈细长柱状、杂乱排列组成辉绿结构的三角架;[26]辉石多为普通辉石,其次是易变辉石及钛辉石,但多为他形不规则状,[19]占比约20%~30%,以粒状充填于斜长石组成的三角架中,共同构成典型的辉绿结构,石英占0~5%,呈他形粒状。[26]其中辉石常蚀变为角闪石、绿泥石和碳酸盐等;基性斜长石则常蚀变为绿帘石、黝帘石、钠长石等矿物集合体及高岭土等,[13]且斜长石总比辉石自形程度高。[19]较酸性的辉绿岩中含少量的石英、钾长石或二者形成文象连晶,而极少量偏咸性的辉绿岩中则含有方沸石。[19]
物理特性
辉绿岩中因含有次生的绿泥石矿物而使岩石常呈灰绿色,[5]也呈深灰色、灰黑色等,[13]其中的矿物晶体则可表现出玻璃光泽到亚金属光泽,断口为贝壳状。[17]莫氏硬度通常为6~7,[17]密度为2.85~3.0g/cm3,[18]韧性大不易磨耗,[20]孔隙率通常较低,[17]抗冻性能、抗风化性和保温性能均良好。因辉绿岩通常含有磁铁矿,还可以表现出一定的磁性。[21][17][22]
化学特性
辉绿岩主要化学成分有二氧化硅(SiO2)、二氧化钛(TiO2)、三氧化二铝(Al2O3)、三氧化二铁(Fe2O3)、氧化铁(FeO)、氧化镁(MgO)、氧化钙(CaO)、氧化纳(Na2O)、氧化钾(K2O)和水(H2O),[15]富含铁和镁,是一种镁铁质火成岩,[27]SiO2含量通常在45%~52%之间。[28]辉绿岩还具有很强的耐酸碱性,[15]除氢氟酸和熔融碱外,对一切浓度的碱及大多数的酸都耐蚀,对磷酸,醋酸及多种有机酸也耐蚀。[29]
结构特征
辉绿岩与辉长岩成分相近,但辉绿岩粒度较小,[13]边缘相一般为细粒结构,向中心相过渡为中粒结构,均为块状构造。[26]辉绿岩呈显晶质,有辉绿结构或次辉绿结构,[13]也可与辉长结构过渡,称辉长辉绿结构。[5]辉绿结构是指基性斜长石和辉石颗粒大小相近,但是自形程度不同,自形程度好的斜长石呈板状,搭成三角形孔隙,其中充填他形的辉石颗粒,[5]斜长石颗粒部分或完全被辉石颗粒所包围,因为矿物质从岩浆中的结晶顺序首先是斜长石,然后才是辉石。[30]除此之外辉绿岩会有嵌晶含长结构,斜长石有葡萄石化,橄榄石有蛇纹石化及滑石化。[19]辉绿岩为多斑状结构,[15]斑晶则是由斜长石和普通辉石组成,斑晶以外的基质部分常有明显的辉绿结构。[6]

形成原因
辉绿岩是地壳深处的玄武质岩浆侵入浅处结晶形成的,[2]形成过程开始于地壳或地幔深处,熔化的岩浆在地壳或地幔中积聚,由于岩浆密度和各种地质过程触发岩浆向地球表面上升的趋势,但不会以熔岩的形式喷发,通常会沿着地壳的裂缝、断层或薄弱环节侵入现有的岩层,随着岩浆的冷却和凝固,其中的矿物质就会开始结晶。随着矿物质继续结晶和岩浆进一步冷却逐渐凝固成岩体,矿物晶体相互交错,形成连贯且耐用的岩石结构。在地质活动时期,上覆岩石可能会由于风化、侵蚀和隆起等自然过程而受到侵蚀使位于地壳深处的辉绿岩地层暴露在地表,也可能会经历断层、褶皱和变形等地质过程,最终塑造了地壳中辉绿岩地层的外观和分布。[17]

辉绿岩常以岩墙、岩脉、岩床或岩盘方式存在,多为岩株状,偶尔也在造山带单独出现,也可同辉长岩、基性喷出岩共生。[13][2]其产状受顶板岩层的厚度控制,当贯入较薄的岩层中可形成与断裂相通的锥状岩席,贯入较厚的岩层中则成为广展的岩床。岩浆上升,通过顶板岩层的抬升会比穿透顶板岩层更容易,所以辉绿岩多伴为岩床,少数为岩墙。单个岩床(墙)的厚度可从几米至数百米。[3]当岩浆向上移动到火山下方的裂缝和薄弱区域时,辉绿岩的冷却速度相对较快,可形成岩脉(穿过原有岩层或岩体的板状火成岩体)或基台(与原有岩层平行形成的板状火成岩体)。[1]岩浆体向上移动时不同冷却速率决定了矿物晶体的大小,[1]较慢的冷却会产生较大的晶体,而较快的冷却会产生较小的晶体,[17]辉绿岩中的的大晶体为斑晶,是岩浆在岩浆室深处缓慢冷却时形成的,当带有大结晶的岩浆迅速向上移动时会导致其余岩浆更快地冷却,又形成了小晶体。[1]岩脉多具有分带现象,[6]且辉绿岩形成得比较浅,不像辉长岩那样深,[5]辉绿岩在各个时代的大地构造单元内广泛分布,是岩石圈或者地壳伸展的产物,对应着一次大型的构造事件,常被用来恢复古板块的裂解、伸展和聚合过程。[32]

分类
按次要矿物可将辉绿岩分为橄榄辉绿岩、角闪辉绿岩、石英辉绿岩和黑云辉绿岩,[19]含沸石、正长石等的称碱性辉绿岩。[5]具斑状结构的称为辉绿玢岩,所含的斑晶为基性斜长石和普通辉石,有时含橄榄石。基质是含长结构,由拉长石、普通辉石及橄榄石等组成,有时含有少量的斜方辉石、角闪石、黑云母、磁铁矿、钛铁矿等。[19]
依某种矿物含量大量增加来命名可分为苦橄辉绿岩(橄榄石含量超过了20%)、斜长辉绿岩(斜长石含量大于70%)和多辉辉绿岩(辉石含量高于60%)等。还可根据次生变化分类为次闪辉绿岩、伊丁石化辉绿岩、蛇纹石化辉绿岩等。[34]
分布区域
辉绿岩在溢流玄武岩区中或四周广泛分布且往往形成岩床(墙)群,岩床较岩墙更为发育。[3]大洋地壳的第二层主要以玄武岩为主,该层上部多为低钾拉斑玄武岩(大洋拉斑玄武岩),而下部则多为呈岩脉或岩床形式的辉绿岩。[35]辉绿岩在大陆区则产在未褶皱的,厚度一般为3000~6000m的沉积盆地中。[3]南极洲中单个中侏罗纪辉绿岩床的体积可达1000~5000km3,[3]其干谷地区的费拉尔辉绿岩就有100~300m厚。[36]北美州从明尼苏达州到尼皮贡湖的苏必利尔湖北岸,有厚达200m的辉绿岩岩床穿过太古代基岩侵入元古代盖层,[37]美国亚利桑那州和加利福尼亚州在650x300公里宽地区内辉绿岩的水平侵入岩含量十分丰富,[7]南美洲的巴西、[8]欧洲的西班牙和芬兰、[9][10]非洲的几内亚和利比里亚、[38][11]亚洲的伊朗和沙特阿拉伯等地也均有辉绿岩产出。[12][39]
辉绿岩在中国的分布也较广泛,但面积要比玄武岩小得多,在岩浆岩尤其是基性岩分布的地区常见辉绿岩的侵入体,[6]主要产地有贵州、浙江、河南、山西等。[13]
历史
人类最早的生产工具是石器,使用石器工具的时代被称为“石器时代”,旧石器时代持续了数十万年,这个时代打制的石器比较粗糙,而距今1.2万年开始的新石器时代则是在打制石器的基础上还增加了磨制的方法。[40][41]人类常通过就地取材或交换等方式获得石材,辉绿岩是新石器时代制作石器的主要原料之一,[42]因其莫氏硬度大于6,可用于制作石斧、石锛和石凿等木作工具,[41]该时期及以后的石刀也多以砂岩和辉绿岩原料为主。[43]
风化及变质
新鲜的辉绿岩强度高且完整性好,而浅层的辉绿岩脉极易风化。[44]辉绿岩的风化与构造、地下水和地形有关,一般地形较缓部位的岩体风化深,地形较陡部位岩体风化浅;构造蚀变风化较为普遍、深度较大;受热液蚀变、构造挤压、地下水等因素作用,上、下盘沉积岩的接触蚀变部位的岩体风化深度也较大。[45]变质基性岩墙的原岩为辉绿岩的多变质形成斜长角闪(片)岩或榴闪(片)岩。[46]
辉绿岩表面因为风化常呈土黄色,并可观察到明显的球形风化特征,[32]在较高温度下还会形成红土风化壳。[47]风化的土壤是壤土,富含粘土矿物,并且往往具有发育良好的底土硬层,限制了渗透性。与粉砂岩风化的土壤相比,它们的pH值、钙、镁和锰浓度明显更高,铁浓度则显著降低。[48]

建筑材料
辉绿岩的力学强度大,[20]强度高但硬度低,[49]因其矿物中有细小的互锁颗粒,具有完美的解理,用于建筑时不会影响岩石的耐久性,[50]是良好的建筑材料。[14]规模较大的辉绿岩常成为高质量的板材原料,[26]经磨光后是良好的饰面材料可用来铺砌地面、镶砌柱面等,[49]且色彩优良,有墨绿色或黑墨绿色等天然色彩,花纹结构均一,便于大面积拼接安装使用,有很好的装饰效果,且具有较强的耐磨性能和耐酸碱腐蚀性能,抗风化性能好,机械强度高,除用作高级建筑内壁装饰外,还可大量用作外墙及门面装饰。[51]保温能力使其可用于温泉浴、桑拿房,甚至需要耐热性的厨房台面。辉绿岩被粉碎后能作混凝土和沥青等建筑材料的骨料,其稳定性、排水性和耐磨性使其成为道路建设和路面的基材,是铁路道碴(支撑铁路轨道的碎石基础)的绝佳选择,[17]因此是工程中常用的天然石材。[21]

辉绿岩具有很好的耐磨、耐酸和耐腐蚀性,经常用于建筑物或设备(容器)的防腐材料,铺砌耐酸池、地平面层及耐酸池槽,[6]各种化工设备的衬里等。[22]也可加工成各种型式的零件如接头、套管等,[52]或者加工成各种精度的粗细管材及粉料,作为耐腐蚀性的填充剂。[6]将辉绿岩粉加入适量的氟硅酸钠,以水玻璃调和后可得到一种很好的耐酸粘合剂,[52]能用于陶瓷的粘接和糖瓷器皿的修补。[53]但辉绿岩耐热性能较差,使用温度不应超过150°。[52]

工业原料
辉绿岩是造铸石和岩棉的重要原料,辉绿岩铸石是一种新型工业材料,具有非常好的抗渗透性,良好的耐磨性能和耐化学腐蚀性,耐磨性可达合金钢材、普通钢材、铸铁的数倍。除氢氟酸、过热磷酸和熔融碱外,对一切浓度的碱及大多数的酸都耐蚀,对醋酸等多种有机酸也耐蚀,与无机酸最初接触的数十小时内会有较显著的腐蚀作用,随后缓慢下来,再过一段时间腐蚀就完全停止。辉绿岩铸石还有良好的介电性和较高的机械强度,是钢铁、有色金属、合金材料、橡胶、耐酸糖瓷等理想的代用材料,在冶金、矿山、发电、煤炭、石油、化工、建材、轻工等领域均得到了广泛的应用。[6][29]

雕刻
辉绿岩还具有较好的雕刻性,广泛地被用于浮雕、沉雕、人物肖像影雕、纪念碑和墓碑等。[17][15]辉绿岩是惠安石雕的主要石材之一,[54]中国泉州开元寺内的部分佛像、十六角形石柱、狮子与狮身人面的浮雕均是用辉绿岩雕刻而成的。[55][56]河北滦平后台子新石器时代遗址下层文化遗存中还曾出土6件以辉绿岩为料的石雕孕妇像,[57]距今5300~4500年的华容长岗庙遗址还发现了磨制精细的长方形辉绿岩石斧、[58]可见辉绿岩是中国从古代到现代一直延用的石雕材料。[59]


农业
辉绿岩和辉长岩等含磷岩石风化而成的含磷土是一种天然的磷肥资源,具有一定的肥效。风化程度高的可以直接施用于花生和甘薯的垄沟内;风化程度低的,可刨出经晾晒、冻融使其进一步风化,然后作底肥施用。含磷风化物施于酸性或微酸性土壤效果较好,施用含磷风化物可使作物增产10~15%,其中以花生、豌豆、甘薯等作物增产效果最好。[16]
科学研究
辉绿岩的形成过程可帮助研究人员了解岩浆室的动力学以及驱动火山和深成活动的机制,特定区域的辉绿岩可以表明过去的构造环境,辉绿岩地层也是过去地质事件和条件的记录,对辉绿岩及其相关岩石的研究有助于地质学家拼凑特定区域的历史,包括岩浆侵位的时间和岩石的冷却速率等方面。辉绿岩的矿物成分以及与辉长岩和玄武岩等其他岩石的关系提供了对岩浆分异过程的深入了解。一些辉绿岩地层含有磁铁矿等矿物质,可以在其形成时保留地球的磁场,通过这些岩石能了解地球磁场的变化,有助于古地磁研究。辉绿岩与玄武岩的相似性提供了火山和深成岩环境之间的联系,有助于了解相似的岩浆在不同深度冷却时的行为。辉绿岩地层可帮助地质学家绘制地质图,部分辉绿岩地层含有磁铁矿或磷灰石等有价值的矿物,这对于资源勘探、土地管理和灾害评估至关重要,还有助于评估潜在的环境影响,如辉绿岩的耐久性可能会影响地下水流模式并影响土地利用规划。[17]
环境影响
早期辉绿岩资源只用做饰面石材,只取大规格和高档次的石材荒料,其余则作废石处理,辉绿岩饰面石材废石(不能成荒的碎石)率达80%,早期废石一般是顺坡向下倾倒,或运至附近地势低洼处,后期多是堆放在采坑内。数年的开采后形成了大量的采坑和废石堆。[4]对土地、植被资源产生占用和破坏,[60]对原生地形地貌景观破坏严重,采矿活动可能引发、加剧或遭受的地质灾害为崩塌、滑坡、 泥石流和地基不均匀沉降;[61]对矿区地下水的补给、径流、排泄也会产生一定的影响,还会导致地表水漏失,影响矿区地表水和地下水的循环条件,甚至影响矿区及周围生产生活用水。[62]
因此在矿山建设和生产过程中,要严格执行相关的采矿工作规程和国家有关采矿技术规范,科学施工,合理采矿,并不断评估矿区及采矿过程中出现的斜坡等潜在坍塌隐患;还要设置安全警示标志,避免人员遇到危险;矿山生产中产生的弃土应及时运至废土堆积处,矿井关闭应及时恢复和处理矿井防止土壤侵蚀。[62]
