谢灿,男,理学博士,生物膜与膜生物工程国家重点实验室分子生物物理学实验室研究员,北京大学生命科学学院教授,博士生导师。研究领域:生物化学和结构生物学。
简介
谢灿,男,北京大学生物膜与膜生物工程国家重点实验室研究员。主要聚焦于(但不局限于)以下几个研究方向:
(1)动物对地球磁场的感受(磁感应受体),以及迁徙、导航的分子机理。
(2)自然界色彩的生物物理学研究,从某种意义上来说,色彩是生物体对环境的一种结构性的适应,自然界的色彩包括色素色彩和结构色彩。结构色(Structural Color)、纳米自组装、变色龙的变色机理、章鱼的变色和隐形的生物物理学基础是我们的主要研究兴趣。
重大发现
或揭开生物第六感之谜
1.5亿年前就出现在这个淡蓝色星球上的蜜蜂,天生就是建筑师。不过当有人试着把磁铁放在旁边干扰时,它们搭建的蜂巢立马变成东倒西歪的“豆腐渣”。形态丑陋的裸鼹鼠终年生活在黑暗的地下,没有发育出视力,却依然逃脱不了地球磁场的掌控,它们打造的地下通道总是南北朝向。就连结构简单的细菌,有的也会在磁场作用下来回移动。欧洲科学家还发现,当地球磁场稳定时,狗总是趴在南北朝向上排便,甚至还会极力避免头尾指向东西。可惜,此前所有试图一探究竟的人,都在磁场大网里变成了“路痴”。
2015年年底终于有人找到了方向。北京大学生命科学学院的年轻教授谢灿宣布,找到一种被命名为MagR的全新磁受体蛋白,研究成果发表于《自然-材料》。有人评论,这是一个“诺奖级别的发现”,这种蛋白“或将揭开被称为生物‘第六感’的磁觉之谜”。一个多月前,大名鼎鼎的《自然》杂志还为此发文祝贺。[1]
