生酮氨基酸(ketogenic amino acid)是指经过代谢能产生酮体的氨基酸。[1]
生酮氨基酸包括苯丙氨酸、酪氨酸、亮氨酸、赖氨酸、色氨酸,这些氨基酸在分解过程中转变为乙酰乙酰辅酶A,而乙酰乙酰辅酶A在动物的肝脏中可转变为乙酰乙酸和β-丁酸,这两种产物为酮体。[1]它们生成酮体的能力在未经治疗的糖尿病中特别明显,这种病人肝产生的大量酮体不仅来自脂肪酸,也来自生酮氨基酸。[2]
生酮氨基酸和生糖氨基酸的界限并不是非常严格。有的氨基酸如苯丙氨酸和酪氨酸,既可生成酮体又可生成糖,称为生酮兼生糖氨基酸。还有些氨基酸如丙氨酸、丝氨酸、半胱氨酸,也可通过形成乙酰CoA后进而形成乙酰乙酸。[1]
