白色结晶。有吸湿性。易溶于热水和碱性溶液，微溶于冷水，不溶于乙醇和乙醚等有机溶剂。熔点230℃(分解)。极微毒（有的称无毒），半数致死量(大鼠，经口)665mg/kg。

密封阴凉干燥保存。

络合剂，络合滴定钼mù、硫酸盐和稀土金属，电流终点法测定铜。
