Icon乐队

Icon乐队为美国的一支重金属乐队，成立于1979年，乐队早期用名“The Schoolboy”，到1981年在亚利桑那州凤凰城正式成立乐队时才换成“Icon”。当时还在读高中的Dan Wexler、Stephen Clifford 和Tracy Wallach 三个朋友一起建立这个乐队，后来加入的有吉他手David Henzerling 和鼓手John Covington。1984年乐队签约Capitol Records，这个时候成员Henzerling 和Covington 离队，而后加入的是吉他手 John Aquilino和鼓手Pat Dixon。

乐队早期用名Schoolboy，到1981年在亚利桑那州凤凰城正式成立乐队时才换成Icon。当时还在读高中的Dan Wexler、Stephen Clifford 和Tracy Wallach 三个朋友一起建立这个乐队。后来加入的有吉他手David Henzerling 和鼓手John Covington，84年乐队签约Capitol Records。这个时候成员Henzerling 和Covington 离队，而后加入的是吉他 手 John Aquilino和鼓手Pat Dixon。

84年7月发行同名专辑，85年发行专辑Night of the Crime，录制期间主唱Stephen Clifford 因个人原因离队。乐队重新组编只在本地发行了一盒名为More Perfect Union的卡带，呈现出新主唱Jerry Harrison精致的摇滚嗓音，还有新加入的键盘Kevin Stoller。虽然只是在本地发行，但乐队还是很成功了吸引了一些新生代力量的关注。

89年在Atlantic/Megaforce旗下发行专辑Right Between the Eyes ，主唱是Jerry Harrison , Drew Bollman 担任 副吉他手。MV"Taking My Breath Away"在MTV频道节目Headbangers' Ball播放，在专辑发行后的一些助唱演唱会后乐队就解散了。主唱另外有自己的音乐工作，其他的乐队成员仍旧继续从事音乐创作，其中吉他手Dan Wexler 为Ailce Cooper作曲录制专辑（Alice曾参与乐队Holy Man's War单曲的幕后合声）。94年发行A More Perfect Union的扩展版本（An Even）More Perfect Union其中包括了一些本来在Right Between The Eyes准备要发行的曲目。

2008年乐队为庆祝乐队重组重新发行了在84年的一张现场DVD。之前的成员Wexler、 Aquilino & Dixon，还有前任成员Dave Henzerling 和新主唱Scott Hammons 已经在计划准备新专辑。

09年主唱Scott Hammons 离队，随之取代主唱位置的是Sheldon Tarsha，之前计划录制的新歌仍旧还有被保留。

乐队的2张专辑ICON和 Night of the Crime有希望在不久后重新发行。
