最开始，伴唱该首歌曲的说唱歌手并不是史努比狗狗，而是说唱歌手Plies。2006年7月，Plies和他同伴在佛罗里达洲盖恩斯维尔的夜店表演时，在得知需要把原定的表演时间减少15分钟来给另一位受邀说唱歌手Lil Boosie演出后，Plies向现场观众开枪，导致5人受伤，之后他和朋友被逮捕。之后，阿肯与史努比狗狗的工作团队达成协议，两人互相在对方的专辑里伴唱一首歌，于是这首歌开始由史努比狗狗伴唱。

歌曲的原本名字叫《I Wanna Fuck You》，但由于为了迎合大众，于是电台发出的歌名就变成了《I Wanna Love You》。
