𫟷(Livermorium),又称为鉝,[6]是人工合成的放射性金属元素,[1][7]又称“超重元素”,[8]位于元素周期表的第7周期VI A族,元素符号为Lv,原子序数为116,分子量是292,[1]电子分布式为[Rn]5f146d107s27p4,[4]室温下呈固态。[2]预测其熔点为637–780K​(364–507°C,687–944°F)​,沸点为1035–1135K​(762–862°C,1403–1583°F),原子半径为183 pm 。[2]氧化态可能有−2,+2和+4价,其中+2价态最稳定。[2][9]2000年7月19日俄美联合小组通过248Cm(48Ca,4n)292116核反应首次合成该元素,[10]为纪念美国劳伦斯利弗莫尔国家实验室和加利福尼亚的利弗莫尔市该元素在2012年被正式命名为“Livermorium”,[11]2013年中文名称定为“𫟷”。[12]目前Livermorium除了科学研究外,没有任何已知的同位素应用。[2]

历史

自然界存在的元素直到yóu(Z=92),比铀更重的元素均是人工合成,[4]统称为“超重元素”,人工合成的新元素原子序数越大,原子核的寿命越短,元素就越不稳定,[14]生成后很快就会分解为其他更轻的元素。[15]

20世纪60年代,科学家们根据元素稳定性的规律提出了“稳定岛”假说,预言在第114号元素附近存在着超重原子核稳定区域,该区域可能存在半衰期较长,相对稳定的原子。[16]因此,“稳定岛”的预测,使科学家们尝试从自然界中寻找或人为制造这些超重元素。[17][18]

1976年6月,美国科学家发现用质子谱轰击马达加斯加独居石的多色巨晕杂质生成了四种微量的新元素——116号、124号、126号和127号,但并未得到科学界的证实和承认。[19][20]同年伯克利的吉奥索等人在超重离子直线加速器上用48Ca离子轰击248Cm,设想发生熔合反应能生成第114号元素和第116号元素,但因为受到反应截面(估计σ<0.01nb)的限制未能成功。[11]

1977年,美国劳伦斯利弗莫尔国家实验室(LBNL)的EK Hulet等人首次尝试合成116号元素,通过加速48Ca轰击248Cm靶,但因为半衰期太短或者形成横截面太小并未发现该元素。[21]

直到1999年,LBNL宣布用核撞击铅靶发现了118号和116号这两种超重元素,但德国法国日本的几个研究小组包括LBNL自身都无法重复这个试验,对原始数据进行分析后,LBNL发现这项研究是其实验室内的研究人员尼诺夫从事了“不正当科学行为”,数据造假所得,因此2001年申请撤回了这个研究结论。[22]

在此期间,俄国杜布纳研究所)和美国(劳伦斯利弗莫尔国家实验室)联合小组的科学家于2000年7月19日公布他们用48Ca离子轰击248Cm原子产生了一个第116号元素的原子,所用的核反应式为248Cm(48Ca,4n)292116,但仅存在了0.05秒便衰变为其他元素,为了证实此次发现,必须再次合成该元素。[23][24][25][12][26]终于,杜布纳核研究联合科研所于2001年再次合成第116号元素,从而证实了这一新元素的存在。[27]

𫟷被发现后的临时名称为ununhexium,由un-un-hex-ium四个字根拼合而成,un的拉丁语译为“1”,hex的拉丁语译为“6”,ium的拉丁语译为“元素”,即116号元素。[28][29]2012年为了纪念美国劳伦斯利弗莫尔国家实验室和加利福尼亚的利弗莫尔(Livermore)市,国际理论与应用化学联合会(IUPAC)正式将116号元素命名为“Livermorium(简称Lv)”,同时获批的还有元素“Flerovium(简称Fl)”。[25][12]隔年全国科学技术名词审定委员会便根据 IUPAC对第116号元素和第114号元素正式确定的英文名称,将第116号元素中文名称定为“𫟷”并获得批准。[13]

2006年10月17日,第118号元素裂变时Lv作为衰变产物被探测到,该元素先是释放一颗由两个质子和两个中子组成的α离子,衰变为116号元素,1ms之后,释放出一颗α离子衰变为第114号元素,然后又衰变成为第112号元素,最后分裂成两颗大小相近的其他原子[20][30]截至到2016年元素周期表已经从92号元素扩展至118号,“𫟷”元素所在的第七周期所有元素均已被发现。[31][32][33]

结构

Lv原子的核电荷数为116,中子数为176。[23]原子核的数字结构如下图所示:[34]

同位素

Lv有四种同位素,290Lv,291Lv,292Lv和293Lv。[35][36]均为α衰变[37]最稳定的同位素是293Lv,半衰期约为53ms,Eα=10.53Mev,292Lv的半衰期约为18ms,其余放射性衰变特性如下:[37][3]

物理性质

根据在元素周期表的位置,推测Lv属于氧族,[38]是VIA 族最重的元素,[39]被归类为后过渡金属,室温下呈固态。[3]预测其熔点为637–780K​(364–507°C,​687–944°F) ​,沸点1035–1135K​(762–862°C,​1403–1583°F)​,原子半径是183pm ,[3]密度为12.9g/cm-3,△Hsub=197kJ/mol-1,第一电离势能为7.5ev。[40]

化学性质

Lv的化学性质可以通过钋(Po)的化学性质外推,主要由7p3/2轨道参与成键来决定,[40]外层电子排布为[Rn]5f14 6d107s27p4,[5]它的自旋-轨道相互作用延长了Lv-H2氢键[41]且Lv-H2键角比预期的要大,可能涉及8s轨道的“超价”杂化,这使得Lv-H2比其他任何XH2(X=O、S、Se、Te和Po)分子都更像水,是最重的水的同系物氢化物[42][41]

氧化态可能为−2,+2, +4,[3]其中+2状态下最稳定,+4状态下不太稳定,[10]Lv的电子亚层和旋量能量分裂比钋大,所以−2和+2价相应的更稳定一些,[42]Lv的二价化合物形成的相对容易程度应该接近于Be或Mg,而像LvF4这样的四价化合物应该只与电负性最强的原子形成。[40]还能与溴离子形成强络合物[43]Lv较强的自旋-轨道耦合作用使其二卤化物是线性的而非弯曲的。[42]

但至今仍没有足够稳定的同位素能在试验中证明它和钋的特征相似。[39]超重元素受相对论效应的影响, 不能简单的利用元素周期表外推来推测其化学性质。[44]因为根据研究发现,随着原子序数的增加,超重元素与相应的同族元素的价电子组态差异愈来愈大。[32]

制备方法

方法一:从U-400回旋加速器上ECR-4M离子源中引出48Ca+5离子束,平均束流强度为0.710-18A,照射248Cm旋转靶,48Ca离子在靶中心的轰击能量为240MeV,从靶中反冲出来的蒸发余核在充气分离器内飞行的过程中可从48Ca离子束、散射粒子和转移反应产物中分离出来,在照射的第35天,累计束流计量为6.61018离子数,观察到292Lv的产生,属于“温熔合法”,反应式如下:[11][17][44][45]

方法二:用245Cm和48Ca反应制得,反应式如下:[14]

方法三:先用86Kr照射208Pb的“温熔合法”,获得第118号元素,293118再经过衰变,可制得116号元素,反应式如下:[38][45][44]

方法四:利用重离子直线加速器(RILAC)将48Ca射束加速到光速的11%,以平均每秒5.71012个钙原子照射248Cm标靶进行热核聚变反应,可合成Lv的同位素292Lv 和293Lv。[46]
